Archives For Life in Hungary

From family to community, highlights about living in Hungary.

Lizi’s folk dance group is performing in a competition today.

This is the 224 year old, three story, seating for 3000 (bleachers on level 3!) Lutheran Church in Szarvas.

An old bridge into town

Checking in from Gyula, a cool little town close to the Romanian border.

Cecilia and I were at Szelrozsa yesterday.  It is the biggest Hungarian Lutheran Youth Festival.  While she and I went to work, participate and network, I did snag this video and a few audio clips to share.  This was a live Hungarian Folk influenced band that was playing as we were heading home.

The audio clips will become part of a new feature that I will be tagging as “the sounds of Hungary” and be posting them to my Life in Hungary category.  Enjoy!

We have big windows in our living room and birds love to crash into them. Case in point, this little guy came for an unexpected visit. He’s flown off now that the shock has worn off. Cute little thing and a sort of cool opportunity for the kids to see a young bird a briefly nurse back to health.

Liza & Levi just attended a one week long traditional Hungarian Folk Dance Camp in Gyor.  Here are the highlights of their final performance.

A few quick picks from the kid’s Folk Dance Camp in Gyor.  Video soon to follow!

From my grill and around the yard. Thanks Lord for a fine grand finale on this Pentecost Sunday!
